Description & Uses

Single pack silicone alkyd coatings, formulated to give high temperature resistance compared with typical air drying paints. Exhibit fast air drying properties.

Typically used on components requiring temperature resistance, to include exhaust systems, hot oil piping, aircraft engines.

Approvals & Relevant Specifications

Meets the performance requirements of MIL-C-13370.

Alternative to Pyrosil 7G800

Performance

Heat Resistant up to 300°C (572°F), with good chemical resistance and corrosion resistance. Suitable for use on both degreased and grit blasted steel and aluminium. Fast air drying; can also be force cured as required.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation: Ensure that all surfaces are clean and free from dirt.

Pre-Treatment: Shot/Grit blast to SA 2-2˝. Remove dust/dirt residues.

Thinner/Reducer Addition: 10-15% addition of IP7800-Reducer

Application Method: Apply by spray. It is recommended that latest generation compliant spray guns are used. Follow gun manufacturers’ recommendations of atomising pressure etc. Apply mist coat followed by cross coat to achieve a typical dry film thickness of 30-40 microns

Drying / Curing

Air Dry:

Touch Dry: 30 minutes
Hard Dry:   4-5 hours: Allow 24 hours before using coated product

Force Cure:

Flash off 30 minutes, then cure for 1 hour @ 100°C (212°F)
