High Temperature Air Drying Anti-Corrosive Paint |
Code Number: IP9036R1 |
IP CODE NUMBERP9036R1 black; IP9036-298 Matt olive drab; – 40016 aluminium (other colours to order)
High temperature one part pure silicone, (not silicone modified) anti corrosive coating air dry, dip, or spray applied which will withstand operating temperatures of up to 650ºC. The coating is permanently resistant against temperatures up to 300ºC combined with good solvent and chemical resistance for use on furnaces, chimneys and electrical equipment. Also used on jet engines, and jet pipes
Meets the performance requirements of Mil-C-13370
Tack free physical air drying after approximately 30 minutes. Over coating time approximately 1 hour. Maximum resistance to solvents after 24 - 48 hours. To achieve optimum properties the coating should be run for 2 - 4 hours at temperatures of above 180ºC.
Aluminium – Chemically anodise, pre-treat or solvent de-grease and emery dress.
Magnesium – Chromate to an approved process.
Steel – Solvent de-grease, abrasive blast.
Titanium – Wet abrasive blast.
All surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned. Oil, grease and dirt should be removed using an approved solvent cleaner (eg IPC.S-01). Coatings based on this resin system may be applied by spraying (electrostatic spraying possible), dipping or brushing. They have unusually quick physical air drying properties. Anti corrosion protection starts immediately after the coating is air dried. Coated objects can be transported or stacked without procuring.
Objects with different temperature zones can be treated with only one coating for the whole temperature range (1205ºF).
Coatings based on this resin system meet the requirements of the automobile industry concerning permanent heat stability (also water shock test), salt spray resistance and adhesion.
