Product Description -

Chemically cured, high grade, two pack (cold curing) strontium chromate epoxy primer with exceptional adhesion to correctly prepared substrates, includes magnesium. Developed specifically for protection of aircraft both externally and internally. It has excellent leaching properties and a superior level of protection against all forms of corrosion, including filiform corrosion. Resistance to organic solvents and aircraft operating fluids. 

Principally used as the primer for our IP2 2 Part epoxy range but can be used with other polyurethane, epoxy and acrylic finishing schemes. Alternative to PR205 system.

Performance -


This material meets the requirements of BSX 33, type A & B 1998 issue which includes 1 mm cross hatch adhesion, water resistance, scratch resistance, flexibility (BS3900 Part E4) and resistance to Tri-n-Butyl Phosphate (main ingredient in Skydrol aviation hydraulic oil).

It is particularly good on magnesium, and gives at least 500 hours salt spray resistance ( ASTM B117) on its own.

 

Application -


Apply by conventional or airless spray. Prior to application the substrate should be thoroughly clean and pretreated (Etch primed / Shot blasted / Alocrome 1200). The primer, once mixed should be allowed to stand for 30 minutes prior to use.

Always re-stir mixed material after standing.
