Metal protective varnishes are suitable for light alloys such as Magnesium and Aluminium. They are highly resistant to: -

Approved alternative to the Aerolac Metal Protective Varnish scheme. Used in conjunction with IP9165 and IP9166 as a Rolls approved Magnesium protective system.

Performance -


Tested to MSRR 9051 on aluminium, magnesium and steel, this includes:

  • 100 Hours at 220°C (430°F) heat resistant
  • 3 Hours in Skydrol at 70°C (160°F)
  • 100 Hours salt water fog at 35°C (95°F)
  • 100 Hours immersion in aviation fuel
  • 10 Cycles of 4 hours at 220°C (430°F) followed by 20 hours salt water fog

IP9140 is designed for dipping, IP9149 and IP9155 are both spraying products.
