Product Description -


Clear, aircraft grey, black and red oxide materials for use on damaged areas of stoving enamels and cadmium plate. With resistance to normal aircraft fluids and high operating temperatures.

 

Approvals/References/Specs -


MSRR 9037. These were previously approved to AFS 307, and AFS 897A.
Clear IP9169 Alternative to 1721-C-8187, CO 5187, CV114, 7/24A
Grey IP9170 Alternative to 1721-D-6930, CO 5153/693, MP399/693, 7/35A
Black IP9173 Alternative to 1721-X-9520, CO 5152 was Omat 709.
Red Oxide IP9174 Alternative to 1721-P4011, CO 5151 - Please note this is not a Rolls Royce preferred material was Omat 708.

Performance -


Tested to MSRR 9037 which includes:

  • 100 hours dry heat at 220ºC (430ºF)
  • 3 hours ester lubricant resistance (Skydrol) at 70ºC (160ºF)
  • 100 hours aviation fuel resistance at 150ºC (300ºF)
Application -


Apply by good quality brush. The clear version is now recommended for use as the primer in all applications in place of the virtually obselete red oxide to MSRR 9037. One coat of clear is brushed on and allowed to dry for 30 minutes, where upon the second coat of either grey, black or clear may be applied. Repairs on cadmium plated parts should be preceded by a self etch primer.
