Product Description -

Ipseal is an inorganic protective coating used as a barrier on Ipcote (IP9183) IP9442, IP9253 and PL219, Ipthin IP9356 Khaki Ipseal is now the most popular colour and more closely resembles Sermaseal 570.

All of the above are conductive, sacrificial coatings, and inherently porous. Ipseal seals this porosity without detracting from their sacrificial properties. It also creates an electrically non-conductive barrier coat. The use of Ipseal on top of these products results in a smoother, harder coating which provides a barrier against carbon deposits, etc extending the useful life of the base coat and a smoother finish which enhances airflow characteristics, and therefore engine efficiency. For use at temperatures up to 800°C (1400°F). This material also has capabilities as a coating in its own right, being water based with no VOC's, this coating has high temperature resistance up to 8001C on such metals as nickel.

Tested to specification MSRR 9140, (under test to CPW 406)
Smooth eggshell finish in either Green or Khaki
Typical Film thickness 4 - 6 microns per coat (0.2 thou)
Operating temperature -40 to + 800ºC, (1420ºF)
Less than 0.6% Hexavalent chrome
Significantly increases resistance of Ipcote products, IP9183, Smoothcoat IP9442, Low Chrome Ipcote IP9253 etc to corrosion resistance
