Product Description -


Low temperature stoving, spray applied sacrificial aluminium coating, capable of being sprayed at thin films as a cadmium alternative. Sprayed at coating thicknesses of 10 to 12 microns, this product is causing considerable interest in industry.

Under review to PS639 and others. Alternative / Replacement for 962 CR.

 

Performance -


With a 12 micron coat (2 a thou), this product has withstood in excess of 1000 hours in an ASTMB117 salt spray cabinet. In addition, it is impervious to chemicals such as Skydrol and hydraulic lube oil and is capable of being over coated with a range of systems.

 

Application -


This coating has to be spray applied and is then subject to 20 hours at 190ºC(375ºF). This is subsequently bead peened to give full sacrificial action.Alternatively, 1 hour at 190ºC (375ºF) then 15 hours at 280ºC (535ºF) followed by peening.

Has been cured at 200ºC, product is time / temperature cure related, in other words, the longer the cure, the more salt spray resistant the coating. The higher the temperature of cure, the better. It will also cure itself in process if run at temperatures above 200ºC.
