Performance -

PL163 is tested to the following minimum specification, actual performance is far in excess of the following:

  • Heat resistance 100 Hours at 300°C (570°F)
  • Salt water fog 100 Hours
  • Skydrol 3 Hours at 70°C (160°F)
Application -

Degrease, abrasive blast and pre-treat as per individual specification. Heat the object to between 120 and 150°C (250-300°F) immediately prior to painting. Spray one coat on to a heated object, when the object temperature reaches 60°C (140°F) return it to the oven and reheat. The coating shall then be stoved by heating the component to 150 (300) +/- 51°C (40°F) for 30 minutes. Apply second coat following the procedure as for the first coat. Repeat the operation until the required film thickness is achieved, flash off for 20 minutes, then stove at 185-195°C (365-385°F) for 2 hours.
