Product Description -


Corrosion resistant coating, touch up for IP9183 Ipcote, Sermetal W & WFX. Colour matched to Proess A type Sermetal/ Ipcote, for use on ferritic stainless steel aero engine and turbine components operating up to 600°C (1115°F) and corrodible steel components up to 500°C (935°F), which are also subject to special media eg Skydrol, ester lubricants and sea water.

Performance -

Tested to Rolls Royce specification MSRR 9141, to include:

  • 100 hours resistance to intermittent salt spray (8 hours on 60 hours off)
  • Dry heat at 600°C (1115°F) for 100 hours
  • Lubricating oils - 100 hours at room temperature, 100 hours at 70°C & 100 hours at 150°C
  • Skydrol hydraulic fluid - 100 hours at room temperature, 100 hours at 70°C
  • Methanal 100 hours at room temperature
  • Water and Methanal mix - 100 hours at room temperature
Application -


Degrease and abrasive blast prior to application. Stir coating during application using a Binks Bulows 900 gun, 920 material needle, 91R air nozzle and B940 material nozzle or similar alternative.

Spray one coat, air dry for 15 - 20 minutes, repeat operation. Heat for 30 minutes at 150°C (300°F), the 2 hours at 190°C (375°F), then 2 hours at 560°C (1040°F). Clean gun and equipment with water.
