PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Smoothseal is an inorganic protective coating used as a barrier normally on Ipcote 9183 to give an ultra smooth finish. Smoothseal, seals any porosity within the sacrificial aluminium coatings that it covers and creates an electrically non-conductive barrier coat. In addition, it results in a smoother harder coating which provides a barrier against carbon deposits etc, extending the useful life of the base coat and gives a smoother finish which enhances air flow characteristics and therefore, engine efficiency.
When used to give an alternative system to Sermatech's 5380 system, it is applied over specially prepared Ipcote IP9183, (apply for Rolls process Spec 666/5)
A light golden yellow colour, it has similar appearance to 5380DP.

PERFORMANCE
Operating temperature: -42 +700°C (1290°F). A smooth eggshell finish in golden yellow. Typical film thickness: 4-6 microns per coat (0.2 thou).
