Unlike strong aqueous solutions of phosphoric and hydrochloric acids, PITAN RUST REMOVER removes iron oxide by a mild complexing action, and does not attack the molecular structure of the UNRUSTED metal.

Laboratory research and practical application of Pitan Rust Remover has revealed that this solution removes rust efficiently from the interior of closed systems i.e.

turbines
fresh water systems
boilers
sterilizers
sprinkler systems
fire mains

heating systems
large and small engines
storage tanks
circulating systems
and any other closed unit of equipment
or closed piping system that would be impractical to clean by mechanical or conventional chemical methods.

Normal rust deposits can be removed in a very short time; deep-seated rust in inaccessible places requires a longer contact period for removal with Pitan Rust Remover.
Without any loss of effectiveness, Pitan Rust Remover can be added directly to water being circulated through or contained in various equipment or systems without requiring a shutdown or inactivity.
In most cases mere stationary contact of the rusty surface with Pitan Rust Remover is adequate for complete cleaning at any temperature above freezing point of solution used. This feature eliminates costly procedures such as agitation, circulation or heating in normal cases. In exceptional cases agitation and heating will expedite the action of Pitan Rust Remover.
The entire rust removal operation can be carried out without the need for any costly or special equipment.

Unlike strong aqueous solutions of phosphoric and hydrochloric acids, Pitan Rust Remover removes iron oxide by a mild complexing action and does not attack the molecular structure of the unrusted metal body. This feature enables Pitan Rust Remover to convert iron oxide to a completely soluble form, thereby eliminating the necessity of removing residue from inaccessible places in equipment or system.
All of the ingredients used in this preparation are non-combustible and non-toxic.
Pitan Rust Remover is odourless.

Pitan Rust Remover does not affect the skin, clothing, gaskets or the unrusted iron, bronze, brass, copper. When stored at low temperature Pitan Rust Remover may crystallize. Crystals will disappear when warmed up.

Shake well before using

For cleaning small tools, parts, separate pieces of iron & steel: -

Using a CLEAN steel, glass, plastic, or wooden container, add 19 equal parts of water to 1 part of Pitan Rust Remover. (Although not essential, HOT water will accelerate the action).
Soak the rusted parts until all rust is removed. (Between 4-48 hours)
Rinse with clean water and allow to dry.
Apply oil or paint to prevent re-rusting.

For removing surface rust: -

Mix 1 part of Pitan Rust Remover with 3 equal parts of either warm or cold water and apply solution to rusted surface by brush.
Agitate with wire-brush or steel wool.
Leave solution on for 15 minutes, then rinse with clean water to ensure complete neutralisation. Repeat as necessary until surface is rust-free.
Allow surface to dry out thoroughly.
Apply thin film of oil, or prime and paint to prevent subsequent re-rusting.

For cleaning closed systems, e.g. heating systems, fire mains, water systems, radiators, cooling systems, etc.

Mix 1 part of Pitan Rust Remover with 19 equal parts of either cold or warm water.
Fill system to be cleaned with the mixture and soak until all rust is removed. (Usually takes 24 to 72 hours).
When all rust has been removed, drain the mixture and flush the system with clean, fresh water.

The entire rust removal operation can be carried out without the need for any costly or specialised equipment.

N.B. It is IMPORTANT to use fresh solutions for EACH different metal to be cleaned.
